Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers was a great cartoon on Disney back in the late s and this awesome platforming game wraps the entire crew together for an exciting outing.

Sent on a rescue mission where they must face off against Fat Cat, this exciting action game contains everything that a Chip 'N Dale fan could want. The entire cast is on display, there are nearly a dozen levels, and best of all, you can even tackle the journey with a friend.

The simple gameplay concepts and straightforward objectives make this a perfect game to play with a new gamer, or to revisit your childhood without breaking a sweat. Many games made in the late s didn't have grand and sprawling stories, and although Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers falls into that pile, it's still a fun adventure for fans of the cartoon.

At the start of the game, Chip, Dale, and the rest of the Rescue Rangers are sent on a mission by a local girl named Mandy. Sad that her kitten has gone missing, Mandy tasks the Rescue Rangers with locating the cat and bringing it back to safety. Initially, Monterey Jack, Chip, and Dale set out on their search as Gadget looks ahead, but before long, the ruse is revealed.

It turns out that Mandy's lost kitten was simply a ploy to kidnap Gadget, forcing Chip and Dale to save their friend and travel to Fat Cat's hideout. As with other early Nintendo games, the story in Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers is light, cartoonish, and acts as a simple bridge from level to level. While the story lacks any interesting plot twists or characters, the adventure itself is full of variety, leading you through different levels and battling various bosses.

Apart from a few cameos that fans of the cartoon will enjoy, the narrative of Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers isn't anything special. Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers is a straightforward platforming and action game with minimal controls that make it approachable for a variety of players.

The game starts you off in a hub map, that much like the Mega Man games, gives you an option of which level to tackle first. There are 11 levels in all, and you'll have to clear most of them to reach the end.

You can play in either solo or cooperative two-play mode, where player one controls Chip and player two controls Dale. Your objective for each level is easy as can be, simply reach the end of the screen without losing all of your lives.

Besides moving, jumping, and ducking, Chip and Dale can hold various items you find around each stage. Items like boxes and apples can be thrown at enemies to deal damage, while heavier objects must be manipulated to reach high platforms.

Like Super Mario Bros, there are collectibles that earn you extra lives once you've picked up enough. You can also activate an invincibility power-up by locating the flying companion Zipper. Most stages end with an epic boss fight, which usually requires fast reaction times and accurate throwing to defeat. The original Nintendo is home to some of the best sidescrolling platforming games of all time, and Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers is worth that sort of praise.

It combines bright visuals with unique level design, never becoming too complicated in the process. Although some stages can be frustrating, the overall level of difficulty is low, so you should be able to finish the game without too many problems.

This classic cartoon game is a must-play for any platforming enthusiast or Disney fan. Either one or two players cooperate or compete simultaneously for bonus items as the heros look to survive while rescuing their main girl, Gadget.

Like previous Disney titles for the NES, this Capcom game offers the best graphics and game play for both young and old players alike. Every part of this game, from the graphics to the sounds to the game play, is well done indeed.

Rescue Rangers only falls flat in terms of challenge and difficulty. Like the other Disney games, Capcom has hurt a great cart by making it too easy. A great package that ends too quickly. As a player's game, Rescue Rangers is outstanding because of its true-to-Disney animation and good control.

The game play is challenging and proves to be more difficult than previous Disney entries from Capcom, and should prove appealing to those who can get past the kiddie-theme. Capcom does it again with another Disney title that first looks like a kiddie game but ends up turning into one of the better Super Mario-style action games available.

Great cartoon graphics and superb game play blend together giving you a cart packed with fun! Rescue Rangers is another successful merger between Capcom and Disney. You get dual scrolling, large Bosses and super 2-player interaction! For an 8-Bit platform, Rescue Rangers comes off rather well and, if anything, makes you wish for a Bit version! Capcom has always done well with cartoony characters and themes and this is certainly no exception!

Sean Kalifut said on Forum :. This is hard to explain, but I will try my best. Both of these games work on my computer. The only problem I have with them is that when I use the start up wizard to place the games in a folder the computer does not recognize files with a comma or a colon in the title of the file.

When I remove the commas and colons so the computer can acknowledge the file the Nestopia icon does not appear on my desktop. What a fickled machine! So in order to play these games or continue where I left off, I have to use the start up wizard everytime. I do not know if this is the problem you have, but besides that the games work fine for me.
